Summer Cobb Salad

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend. My weekend was a good one especially because it officially feels like summer. This was the first weekend that I really got to enjoy our new house and relaxing out on our beautiful deck.

It was filled with relaxing, yoga, catching up with friends, and enjoying time with family. Sunday was gorgeous out. When we went grocery shopping at Whole Foods I saw these beautiful sunflowers and just had to get them. I’ve never been much of a flower person or plant person but I think that might change living in a house now. I put the sunflowers in the mason jar that I got at Goodwill (for only two dollars). I put them on our table outside and they look so pretty! These made me really happy…sometimes it’s just the little things!

After doing a ton of grilling all weekend and pretty much always, I decided to change it up for dinner last night. I wanted a light, summery salad but still one that was filling. So was born this summer cob salad.

Sauteed Ginger and Garlic Salmon

Happy Friday Lovelies! I completely forgot that today was Good Friday and that a lot of companies have it off.  I did have work but came in to find out we were getting out early…woo hoo!  Perfect, especially since I’m going to Boston for the weekend and leaving tonight.  I still can’t believe it’s been one year since the last Boston Marathon.

Andy and I are running the B.A.A. 5k with two of my bestest friends tomorrow morning.  I am really looking forward to running around the Boston Common and Back Bay. It’s one of the things I miss most about living there. The race starts at 8AM though, so looks like a mellow evening is in store for tonight.

Okay, food talk time!

I’ve really been craving seafood lately.  It’s a great lighter option for the Spring time.  I was really feeling my spring fever coming on last week and then BAM it’s freezing again.  Such a tease that Mother Nature is.

When we did get a glimpse of spring a couple of weeks ago though I made this delicious Sauteed Ginger and Garlic Salmon dish for one.  Thanks to the wonderful man behind the fish counter at Whole Foods for the inspiration.  He had shown me a marinade to saute it with.  It sounded yummy, but of course had way too many ingredients in it that I couldn’t pronounce, so I made my own!

Maple Mustard Pork Chops

Oh hey there!  Welcome to the new and improved ThePrimalYogi.com.

I can’t believe I’ve been blogging for more than six months now!  I’ve been pretty consistent with it too, which I wasn’t sure would happen.  I really have been enjoying this little venture but wasn’t exactly happy with how the blog looked.  I contemplated “upgrading” for a while but just never kicked myself into gear.

Until this weekend!

There is SO much to learn about building a website it’s pretty overwhelming.  So I decided to start with baby steps.  I chose a new theme I have been eyeing for a while called Yumblog.  It’s a theme designed by a company called UpThemes.  The guys there have been super helpful with answering my questions (I didn’t even realize I could get help at first so that was a nice surprise).

What do you guys think?

Anyways, on to the good stuff.
