5 Misconceptions About Yoga

I’ve been practicing yoga for a couple of years now. And when I say it’s been a life changer for me, well it literally has been (I recently finished my Yoga Teacher Training). With that said, a majority of my inner circle, my close friends and family have never stepped foot on a yoga mat.

As yoga becomes a bigger part of my life, I find myself wanting to share it more with the people I love. I’ve realized it’s not because I have failed to “sell” yoga that they haven’t tried it, it’s because there are so many misconceptions about yoga and the people who teach or practice yoga.

5 Misconceptions About Yoga

You have to be flexible to practice yoga. Not at all! Are body builders the only ones who lift weights? Are marathoners the only people who run? Rome wasn’t built in a day people! You go to yoga so that when you are 50 you can still tie your shoes! Continue reading

A Day in Hudson Valley

Hi Loves! Yesterday Andy and I celebrated our two year anniversary.  We both decided to take the day off and do a little day trip to Hudson Valley…close but yet far from home.  It’s been on my list to check out the Hudson Valley area, especially in the fall since it’s known for it’s gorgeous foliage.

I did a little research and found that there is the longest pedestrian bridge in the world right in Poughkeepsie!  I also found a bunch of wineries in the area that looked beautiful.  So we set out to do just that….walk a little, take in the views, and sip some wine among the beautiful scenery.

We thought this would be perfect, since we do have a little fur child to worry about now.  Everything was dog friendly which was perfect!

Here is a re-cap in pictures of our day in Hudson Valley.

Rudy still isn’t so sure about long car rides.

The Walkway Over the Hudson was recently built and starts in Poughkeepsie.  There is a parking lot right at the entrance making it easily accessible.

It was a gorgeous day!  Even though we may have been a couple of weeks late the foliage was still stunning! Continue reading

Cocoa Cinnamon Pumpkin Seeds

Happy Hump Day peoples!  Why am I so in love with fall?  I wish I could just scoop it all up and put it in a box and keep it forever.

One favorite fall activity I have is carving pumpkins.  Not really for the fact of carving a crazy design or anything, but just to reap the benefits of getting a whole bunch of pumpkin seeds…for free (I know not really but it feels like it)!

Andy and I headed out last weekend to do some fun fall activities.  We even brought the pup since he’s all vaccinated and can be out in the world for real now.  Of course the pumpkin patch we went didn’t allow dogs so I had to go grab one myself…boring.

Anyways, once we got home I carved the pumpkin in about 20 minutes flat.  I had to get the seeds in the oven before Homeland! Continue reading
