Parsnip Fries

Happy Friday lovies!  Look at what a snow day can do?  I’m all caught up on blogging and it feels great.  It also felt great to cook up a new little recipe while I was stuck inside this week.

It’s difficult sometimes to come up with new dishes because someone in the house is a little picky and we pretty much just really love our meat in the simplest form.  That’s why sometimes to be inventive it has to be with smaller side dishes or snacks…which brought me to try this delicious spin on my favorite food.

French fries are my weakness.  I had heard of people making veggie fries before.  So when I was craving some nice winter, root vegetables Parsnips immediately came to mind.

These were absolutely delicious.  Sweet and savory, and the perfect compliment to a nice juicy steak.

Two Ingredient Primal Pancake

Hi loves! I hope everyone’s New Year is off to a great start. Mine has been very exciting to say the least. Lots of celebrating going on for mine and Andy’s engagement.

It’s funny to think last year at this time I was doing the 21 day sugar detox. It just wasn’t realistic this year but I would love to do it again at some point soon as it’s a great way to kind of re-check in with my eating habits.

Speaking of eating habits, I have actually found a new breakfast that I’ve been loving lately. It’s super simple, paleo friendly, and filling!

I had wanted to try this recipe for quite some time a after I used to see Tina from Carrots n’ Cake make it.

I introduce to you, the Two Ingredient Primal Pancake!

An Eight Course Meal at Saugatuck Craft Butchery

Happy Monday friends! Boy do I have a great post for you today.

First things first though. The winner of the Strong and KIND bar giveaway is….

Becca! I used the Random Number Generator to pick the winner.  Congrats Becca!

Now on to the yummy, scrumptious, melt in your mouth stuff. Andy and I attended a Harvest Dinner last week at the Saugatuck Craft Butchery.

The Saugatuck Craft Butchery was founded three years ago in Westport, Connecticut by a husband and wife who were unsatisfied with food situation in the area.  It was way too hard to find good quality and local meat so they left their corporate jobs and opened up a food establishment to provide the community with grass fed, antibiotic and hormone free animal products. So cool.

Andy and I have been wanting to get to the butchery to check it out so when the opportunity arose to attend one of their eight course dinners, we jumped right on it!

This was such a cool experience and one of the best, most adventurous meals I have ever had!  We sat right up at the bar seats where we had an up close view of the chef, Emily, at work.  It was like a real live version of Top Chef!
