Thinking Out Loud Link – Up #2

Well I just want to thank Amanda at Running With Spoons for hosting Thinking Out Loud because it’s exactly what I needed this week!  I wrote my first Thinking Out Loud post last week…and haven’t written a post since.

It’s just been one of those weeks.  Where everything is off schedule, you have too many things to do, and not enough hours to do them.  So thank you Amanda for letting me Think Out Loud…because it’s exactly what I need to do this week!

  • I saw the most beautiful sunset this week.  I didn’t even realize just how beautiful it was until I looked at the picture I had snapped much later.  The weird thing was that I snapped it after leaving a wake.  It really made me stop and think. There is beauty everywhere you look, even in life’s saddest moments…you just have to notice them.

  • I am really forcing spring into my life this week.  I shed my winter coat, put on flats, and even ordered an iced coffee at Starbucks!  Unfortunately mother nature didn’t exactly cooperate, but I think she’s almost there.

  • I’m feeling guilty that I’ve been slacking on my blog posts.  One of my 2014 intentions was to try and post three times a week.  Between work, yoga training, and well…just life, it’s been harder than I thought.

  • I leave for Belize in just over a month!  I love planning vacations only a couple of months out because they creep up on you, and bam! Paradise is knocking at your door before you know it.  I’ve been window shopping (what’s the equivalent online?) for a new bathing suit.  I’m really liking the fringe look!

  • Last weekend Andy and I went to a brewery here in Connecticut, Two Roads Brewery.  In this first year back in Connecticut after living in Boston for four years, I’ve realized that this little state of ours really does have so many fun things to explore.  Two Roads is an awesome place, not to mention awesome beer with a fantastic slogan. Take the road less traveled.

  • I’ve been loving Spotify lately and discovering new music.  A few new favorite bands / artists: Birds of Tokyo, Walk off The Earth, The Wild Feathers, and Vitamin String Quartet.

That’s all I got for you this week.  Until next Thursday!

Thinking Out Loud Link-Up #1

Happy Thursday!  Thursdays are great aren’t they?  Especially when you have time after work to write a blog post and link up with so many other lovely bloggers!

Thinking Out Loud is hosted by Amanda over at Running With Spoons.  She created it because she knows that writer’s block happens, that we all have random thoughts running through our brains, and because not every post should have to be so structured.  Sometimes Thinking Out Loud is the best way to get the juices flowing. So let the randomness begin!

  • Why is it so hard to wake up some mornings, and others not so much?  I had a few things going on this week after work so planned on doing a few early morning runs.  Well it only happened once. Wednesday I hit the snooze button about ten times! TEN! But then I woke up this morning (even after going out for dinner and drinks last night) perfectly fine.

I got a bunch of pictures of the sunrise.  It is one of the most refreshing things…sunrise, run, fresh air…I should really do this everyday!

  • I’ve been snacking on a lot of beef jerky lately.  It was inspired by my 21 Day Sugar Detox back in January and now Andy and I are hooked.  Andy especially.  He has been experimenting with all different marinades and flavoring.  I help a little, but really just am reaping the benefits!

  • Have you ever tried oil pulling?  I recently read about it on the Fashion Lush.  It’s supposed to have all of these amazing detoxifying benefits.  Well I’ve done it a few times but not consistently.  I guess if I want to see if I notice these benefits I’ll have to commit to it.  All or nothing right?

  • Andy and I leave for Belize in just over a month! Whoa.  And when I say “leave for” I mean we have hotels booked but no flights. I’m starting to get anxious about this.  Kayak has this new Pricing Trends feature.  Has anyone used it?  Well we have been following it and it has said to “Wait” and that prices may fall for about three weeks now.  And guess what?  Prices went up!! What the heck!  It still says to wait but I’m wondering if we should just buy now.

  • I can not believe it’s been almost a year since I moved out of Boston!  Time really freakin flies.  I really wish I could get there more often than I have.  But I will be going back in a few weeks to run the BAA 5k!  My bestfriend and I used to do this race every year.  It is the weekend before the marathon and it crosses over the marathon finish line.  It’s definitely going to be an emotional race this year, but I’m so happy to be running for all of those lives lost last year.

  • I’m hungry so am going to go cook dinner.  Guess what I’m having?  An omelet! It seriously never gets old.

Well that was fun.  Thanks for listening! Hope everyone has a fantastic night!

Friday Link Love

2012-03-13 16.03.46

Happy Friday!  I hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend.

That was a silly statement.  Who doesn’t look forward to the weekend?
My Friday started with a trip to the dermatologist to get a mole removed.  It wasn’t bad at all besides the fact that I now keep remembering that I have stitches on my chest and they’re getting really itchy.  Oh and also that I can’t do any heart openers or backbends for a week in yoga. Boo.

Anyways, I wanted to do a Friday Link Love post today because I came across some pretty awesome posts and articles this week that I just had to share.  (My blog doesn’t show links very distinctly…just click on the title of the post to get there!)

Hope you enjoy!
A Letter To My Sisters: Our Value is Not Based on Clicks: Such a heartwarming post that really reminds us to live life through our eyes instead of our smart phones.  If you have any pre-teens / teenagers in your life, definitely a great one to share.

8 Things Remarkably Effective People Do Every Day : #1 is my favorite “Visualize Your Success.”  I learned this in my Yoga Teacher Training – Weekend Two.  We called it “Feel it real.”  I’ve been practicing by actually visualizing myself teaching yoga classes.  It definitely helps with my confidence and motivation on my path to getting there.

19 Things You’ll Appreciate Only If You Studied Abroad: I swear this article could have been written by me or my friends who I studied abroad with.  It is dead on! #4, #7, and #16 are my favorites.
