Crunchy Maple Almond Butter?! I hope that title made you click on this post. It would definitely make me click.
Today was a great Monday. Mainly because we gained an extra hour of sunlight tonight. It was pretty crazy how much it affected my mood. I rushed home after work, threw on my running shoes, and headed out for a run. It was so, so nice to catch the sunset and breathe in 45 degree air! Literally, an instant mood booster.
Now on to that Crunchy Maple Almond Butter that made you click in the first place. I can’t believe I didn’t buy a food processor earlier. I’ve been dishing a lot of money for fancy almond butters over the past few years. Little did I know all I needed was a few ingredients and this amazing machine we call a food processor.
Crunchy Maple Almond Butter
- 1 lb Roasted, Unsalted Almonds
- 1/2 tbsp Vermont Maple Syrup
- Sea Salt to taste
Ready? Put your almonds in your food processor, putting 1/4 cup of them aside to save for your crunch. Add a pinch of salt and shut the lid. Turn on high for about 15 minutes or until it has liquefied. Turn it off and add maple syrup (we used pure maple syrup that we got on our Vermont trip). Turn on high again for another 2-3 minutes. For the last step, turn off the processor and add your 1/4 cup of almonds. Now simply use the pulse setting on your processor until desired crunchiness is attained. Ta da!
I wish I had a pretty little mason jar to make these pictures better, but you will have to deal with my plastic tupperware. It still tastes delicious, I promise! Has anyone else attempted to make their own Almond Butter?
I love making almond butter 🙂
Me too! I can’t believe I went this long without!
Looks easy and sounds delicious! I don’t know if I could fit another kitchen tool into my already tiny kitchen, but when I do, I’m making this!
haha…I guess one advantage of no longer living in a big city! Definitely try it out at some point. It’s a game changer!
