Being Grateful For Being Busy

Happy Cinco de Mayo! Cinco de Mayo is one of my favorite holidays. Not because I like tequila or Corona but because it’s my birthday too!

I have a CRAZY month coming up. At first, the thought of everything I have to do in May made me a little anxious. How am I ever going to find the time to get all of this done?! There are not ever enough hours in the day, right?  Why am I so BUSY!?

But then I decided to take control of my thoughts, because hey we have the capability to do so. Instead of being stressed, why not look at everything I have going on in my life and be truly appreciative and grateful?  I am going to start being grateful for being busy.

So often we can all get caught up in the busy day-to-day life. Our weekends book up months in advance. We have deadlines at work, family commitments, and travel plans. We can really just start to run on autopilot or worse, let the stress exhaust us.

Coming into May I’ve decided to take a little time to be appreciative. I am so grateful for all the exciting plans and changes I have coming up.

This Thursday we leave for Belize! (no I haven’t packed yet)

The weekend we get back I have yoga teacher training – weekend eight.

The following weekend Andy and I are moving in together. To a new house in a new town! (no I haven’t started packing yet)

The weekend after that I have yoga teacher training weekend nine.

I think I’m really getting the hang of maximizing my time and energy. I took some advice from Jess’s blog on Energy Management. For example, I wrote the bulk of this blog post while sitting in an hour of traffic this morning by speaking to Siri in my ‘notepad.’ Yes, I am serious. Why not?!

I hope everyone has a great start to their week! Stay tuned for some fun posts coming up on The Primal Yogi this month on Belize, yoga, and moving!

  1. I forget how lucky I am to be busy. It really is a good thing to have work that needs you, family that wants your attention, and activities you enjoy doing. I never thought to dictate posts to Siri, I always write them in between sets at the gym!

Your May sounds so awesome! So many exciting things coming up! Good reminder to stop and remember to be grateful. I am infinitely happier when I look at being busy as a good thing rather than a hassle.

  3. SO much good stuff coming up for you! I can’t wait to hear about it all.

Glad my post about energy management resonated. I’ll have to try what you did writing this post using Siri! Smart girl.
